  18. NORAN Instruments, a world leader in optical imaging instrumenta-
  19. tion and X-ray microanalysis is seeking a skilled  and  motivated
  20. individual  for  a  software engineering position in the Confocal
  21. Research and Development Unit.
  22.  
  23. The individual will champion the image processing component of  a
  24. suite  of  tools  to  acquire and analyze images from a real time
  25. laser scanning microscope system.  The software runs  on  Silicon
  26. Graphics Workstations.
  27.  
  28. The  position  requires experience programming in C with a strong
  29. background developing GUI  applications,  preferably  in  X  Win-
  30. dows/Motif on a Unix platform.
  31.  
  32. A B.S in electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent
  33. experience is required (an M.S. is preferred).  Prior  experience
  34. should  ideally emphasis user interface development.  Familiarity
  35. with Objected Oriented Analysis and  Design  would  be  a  strong
  36. plus.   A background in scientific visualization or medical imag-
  37. ing applications will be highly valued.
